I took the “giant garter stitch scarf” off the needles last night, only to find that I dropped a stitch about 8 rows back. I am not looking forward to un-knitting it to there… I wonder if I can just rip it back…

Hey, you don’t have to rip back, just pick up the stitch and bring it back up. Here are some directions http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/421 or this one on video http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips
Hope this helps!

Turns out, this isn’t a dropped stitch, it is a hole where I messed up the tension when changing to a new ball of yarn. When we rip it, we’re going to take photos so that I can document the fix. Otherwise, it would be done by now.
Lesson learned: when switching to a new ball, take the time to go back and join at the start of a row!
