I finished Sandy’s tam in plenty of time to deliver it to her. She seemed very pleased by it, running off several times to try it on in front of a mirror. She says that she never wears hats, but plans to wear this one. That makes me happy.

Sandy is our neighbor back in [...]

It ain’t much, but it only took about an hour and a half. Including stitching it up. I gotta get a shot of the top. I did something kind of interesting with the crown.

I had a bunch of time on Saturday while being the “designated driver” for our house at the Lace Guild meeting, and finished up my Halfdome variant. This is the basic Halfdome hat from Knitty, done in-the-round based on Puddock’s instructions. I made it after finishing the Halfdome for a friend of mine at work. [...]

I finally finished THoMC. It had two more quick jabs for me, the first of which was kind of interesting. I knitted onto the wrong circular while I was on the train and ended up with this loop:

I thought I post something quick about the Hat That Might Fit Andre the Giant. This was my first attempt at a hat, and I had fun making it, but I wasn’t concentrating during the time I really should have been, and the result is… shall we say… interesting. This was supposed to be a [...]

A quick check-in on the Bulky Hat project I started Friday night. I struggled with the “knit and purl into the same stitch” increase in this top-down hat, something I found on Ravelry, titled “Bulky Knitted Hat by Kristin Omdahl.” I think I had a lot of trouble with the increase because I’d just [...]

I finally got time to take some snapshots of my cable hat. It is really too small for me. The brim is supposed to be folded up, but if I do that, the thing sits on the top of my head like a skullcap. Still, it is done and no disasters this time. I’m not [...]
